This class incorporates deep passive and active stretching, Yin yoga, and elements of self-myofascial release using tennis balls, foam rollers and other props, targeting the connective tissues and fascia of the body. Postures are held for 3 to 5 minutes to achieve more flexibility in the joints and connective tissue. A calming and balancing addition suitable for all lifestyles.

Mat work is the foundation of the Pilates Method, and incorporates the core principles of control, centering, concentration, breathing, precision and flow. You'll work from the deepest layers of muscles, which stabilize and support your spine and pelvis, resulting in a strong, flexible spine, improved body awareness, alignment and posture.

Yin Yoga
1 hour with Nicole Adams
6:30pm-7:30pm Invites you to slow down and create space for stillness while opening of the fascial layer of the body. Fascia is the connective tissue (shrink wrap) that underlies the skin, wraps the muscles, and holds the bones together. It is the conduit for the meridians of the body through which energy flows. Over time chronic tightness of this layer causes stiffness, restricting mobility and energy flow. Fascia responds differently than muscle and requires this slow approach to facilitate opening. This is a deeply meditative practice. No prior yoga experience required.
